*QB Alex Mortensen, a letterman from the 2005 squad, returned to the team Tuesday as a member of the scout team.

Lee and Emert’s Family Ties

Arkansas Backup Quarterback Nathan Emert and Offensive Coordinator David Lee never intended to work together. Emert and Lee’s daughter started dating while Lee was an assistant for the second time at Arkansas and Emert was playing high school ball at Shiloh Christian. They eventually went separate ways, Lee to Dallas and the Cowboys, Emert to Missouri Southern State College. Emert transferred to Arkansas during the 2006 spring semester eventually marrying Lee’s daughter. Lee came aboard this past spring.
