Arkansas’ Patrick Beverley Scored 13 as the USA Basketball Under 19 team lost to home team Serbia 74-69 in the finals of the U19 Wolrd Championships. Team USA had gotten to the Gold Medal Game dy defeating France 78-75.
I’ve been burying these Under 19 World Championship updates in the trough but Patrick Beverley has led this team from the beginning and scored 20 points to lead all scorers in a win in the Quarterfinals over Argentina 112-86. Team USA will face France in a rematch in the Semi-Finals. The US beat France 87-82 on Wednesday, in a game where Beverley scored 15.

Beverley Scores 14 in Team USA Win Over Lithuania
The U-19 team faces Brazil today.
The 2007 USA Basketball U 19 World Championship Team (3-0) is undefeated coming out of preliminary pool play after eeking out win over host team Serbia.

With time running off the shot clock, Arkansas rising sophomore Patrick Beverley had no choice but to put up a basket and his floater beat the 24-second buzzer, essentially putting the nail in the coffin with only 10. 1 ticks remaining. Serbia attempted a three, but Beverley, who scored 11 points, was there for the board to seal the win.
Saturday, Sophomore guard Patrick Beverley was named to the USA Under 19 Team that will represent the United States in the 2007 FIBA U19 World Championship (players must be born on or after Jan. 1, 1988) that will be held July 12-22 in Novi Sad, Serbia.
He was chosen out as one of 12 players on the team out of 18 who participated in the USA Basketball U19 World Championship Trials in Dallas, TX.
