UA freshman Ethan Tracy made his Razorback debut memorable leading the men’s golf team to victory while earning medalist honors at the Maryland Intercollegiate in Cambridge, Md., Sunday. The Women’s Soccer team improved to 4-1 on the season after defeating Samford 1-0 in double overtime Sunday.

The Morning News sits down with Freshman FS Elton Ford. Arkansas has self-reported 2 minor violations in the football program, beyond the Michael Smith’s Textbook violation, to the NCAA since March. Former Member of the Springdale Five, Andrew Norman is transferring back to Arkansas from Tulsa and will join the team as a walk-on. He’ll sit a year and have two years of eligibility remaining. I usually don’t do a lot of recruiting news, but, the hogs have commitments from 2 of ESPN’s top 10 Cornerbacks for this recruiting class.
Former Hog Jason Peters has ended his holdout and has reported to the Buffalo Bills. Darren McFadden says “It’s strictly Raiders and Razorbacks for me!“. One of the Expats will be in attendance for Monday Nights Raiders (D-Mac) Vs. Broncos (Hillis) matchup. He promises a full report.

The Women’s Basketball Schedule has been Released. A pair of Tennis Hogs grab preseason rankings. Arkansas Volleyball loses a tight one at Georgia Tech. Arkansas Women’s Soccer improves to 3-1 on the season after shutting out Jacksonville St. 4-0. Finally, for the second time in as many seasons, Arkansas Razorback sophomore Catherine White won the 4K race at the Arkansas Dual.

A couple of liveblogs were going on during tonights game…Slopnet, ArkansasRazorbacks.com, and AS360. That second liveblog also has a nice photo of the, spoiler no more, hog at midfield (see after the jump). The liveblogger at the official site is Bill Smith with media relations. He has a nice childhood story posted about the logo. Not only did they debut the hog at midfield they busted out in a red on red uniform. I’ll keep my comments to myself on this outfit (see pic below as well).
SEC commish Mike Slive thanks you for the ESPN contract. The Bud Walton Renovations are underway (bye slobberin’ hog). The women’s soccer team falls to 1-1 on the year after a loss to Tulsa (1-0) in their home opener. The Women’s Volleyball team lost their first two games of the season at The Colorado State Tournament…0-3 to Colorado St. and 0-3 to Eastern Washington.
They played Denver tonight which I’ll update with a post later since I can’t find a final on that contest. UPDATE: They Lost to Denver

Patrick Beverly is close to signing a pro contract to play overseas and has signed an agent (he’s gone officially). Earnest Mitchell feels 90% back from his knee surgery. ESPN has bought the TV rights to almost the entire SEC for $2.25 BILLION. This doubles the income for each school from last years deals with their TV partners. The deal kills the idea of an SEC channel and also kills the SEC’s relationship with Raycom/Lincoln Financial/Jefferson Pilot Sports. You can also look forward to subscribing to ESPNU since a lot of SEC programming will end up there. Bobby Petrino has a photographic memory. Marcus Monk was waived from the Bears. Freshman WR Jarius Wright is shining. ESPN looks at TE D.J. Williams. War Memorial Stadium plans for it’s 60th Anniversary. Razorback Women’s Soccer opens it’s season with a 1-0 win over Missouri St.
The Hogs are extending their contract with War Memorial Stadium another 2 years till 2016. The University responded to a FOIA request with an admission of 6 self-reported secondary NCAA rules violations in the basketball program involving Text messaging, improper contact with recruits, and an improper official visit. The football team is in game week mode. Freshman QB Tyler Wilson is competing for the backup QB spot. ESPN’s Chris Low visited Fayetteville and logs a couple of reports. Hog WR Marques Wade was fined and ordered to complete 16 hours of community service after he pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and careless driving. Former Hog Freddie Fairchild has been sentenced to 120 days in the county jail after he pleaded guilty to beating his girlfriend and detaining her against her will. Hog Golfer Andrew Landry was defeated in the round of 16 at the US Amateur Championship. Former Hog Veronica Campbell-Brown brought home her second gold medal in the 200 meters for Jamaica. The Razorbloggers have their Preseason Poll posted. The Hog fanbase is ranked the 5th most obnoxious in the SEC by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
