This Week From the Bench…
There are still some who are obsessed with hating former Razorback coach Houston Nutt, and there are also some, believe it or not, who still love him. Many are still very preoccupied with Nutt as he shows up on radio shows in this state and at banquets.
I believe this continued preoccupation [...]
This Week From The Bench…
The last seven years have been a columnist’s dream, and I would like to personally thank all parties involved for providing such rich content to write about. Even in the offseason, there seemed to be one scandal after another that kept the chat rooms active. (I love to call the Internet [...]
I’ve been slightly lazy in updating recently so there is some stuff to catch up on…
Backup Linebacker Freddy Burton was arrested for DUI this morning. Former Hog Tyson Gay qualified for the US Olympic squad in the 100m. Arkansas Hired Northern Iowa’s Chris Bucknam as the new Track and Field and Cross Country coach replacing [...]
This Week From The Bench…
I believe the new coach is much more willing to take that chance. Whether you like it or not, the fate of this team almost certainly lies on the shoulders of your fourth-year quarterback. Players who are good as freshmen and have unproven ability will rise or fall with the play [...]
This Week From The Bench…
Usually at about this time during the summer, I provide my preseason prediction for Razorback football in a game-by-game scenario. But I am reluctant right now to do such a thing because I want to wait at least until the freshmen have participated in practice this August.
Why am I waiting? There [...]
I’ve been killer busy at work and since there hasn’t been much happening, this blog tends to fall to the wayside. But here are a few stories I’ve looked at the past week or so…
Razorbloggers:Razorbits (the boys throwing to Felix). Felix gets his rookie card. Matt Jones on the hot seat and Brett Goode is [...]
From Arkansas Sports 360…
Fairchild had been suspended indefinitely since March 25, a day after he was arrested and charged with battery and false imprisonment. His status has been unchanged until today when Coach Bobby Petrino dismissed him from the team.
Well the title says it all…the Diamond Hogs dropped their second straight in the NCAA regional and with it got a ticket home. They lost to Stanford 5-1.
Ladyback Dacia Barr won the NCAA Mideast 1,500 meter Title. The Men Track Hogs ended up advancing nine athletes in eight events to the NCAA Championships in Des [...]
In Fayetteville…
Bobby Petrino has been being reminded of the tough schedule he has in front of his Hogs (the second toughest in the nation). Alex Tejada hurt his knee during a morning run this week, he shouldn’t miss any preseason practice. Petrino opposes an early signing period for football. Petrino’s decision was one of the [...]
This Week From The Bench…
No date on the upcoming Razorback football schedule rings louder than October 25. The date, of course, is the return of Houston Nutt to the University of Arkansas campus for a game featuring his Ole Miss Rebels against his former team, the Razorbacks.

In case you haven’t heard, the Diamond Hogs recaptured 8th place in the SEC standings with a sweep of #13 South Carolina. The weekend Series at Baum started with a bang when Freshman Jacob House hit a 1-0 pitch into the visiting bleachers for a walk-off grand slam, giving the Hogs a 12-11 win Friday [...]
Ryan Mallett’s appeal to the NCAA to play this season was denied. AOL thinks that it was the right decision for the NCAA. Former Razorback Head Coach Lou Holtz has been elected to the College Football Hall of Fame. Casey Dick is gaining attention…the expats are kinda intrigued. Razorblogger HogBlogger recaps what he saw this [...]
This Week From the Bench…
A surprisingly good crowd appeared in Fayetteville for the Red-White game and the unveiling of the forward pass for the Hog faithful. It was also good to see the introduction of the tight-end eligible play. Maybe after an extended period of time with no passing game the Hogs can finally put [...]
Here’s The practice wrapups from the razorbloggers….4/11, 4/15. Michael Smith got a hip pointer friday before the scrimmage, but returned tuesday. Ryan Mallett is out for the rest of the spring with a thumb injury. The Traveler says it’s a fracture. FYI…USC Trojan Mitch Mustain lost the competition for the team’s starting spot…ha ha ha. [...]
